Matt's 12th Birthday

Hardly can believe it has been 12 years. I don't feel any different, but when I look at Matt, I do see the years going by faster then they should. I have loved every moment with this now to be young man. I think he had an excellent Birthday. We had three of his friend stay overnight. They were all excellent. One boy had to get up and go to baseball this morning, so he actually went to bed at 11:00pm. Matt and his other friend stayed up until 3:30a.m. (I was told). Dave and Ibought him Rock Band for his Wii. You get a set of drums, guiter and microphone and you get points on which device you use. Yes, even singing. Dave and I played it the first time we took it out. I did the drums and got 80% which I didn't think was too bad (on Easy). The singing I tried next, not so good. It is fun. They boys had fun with it. We also watched Iron Man and the Hulk movies last night. It was like Hurricane weather, a lot of leaves came down last night.

Everyone enjoy their week, I am off to cleaning up the mess.

Weekend October 17 -19 2008

We had a busy, fun weekend. Friday night I went to a Jewelry party with girls from work. It was fun, but didn't stay to long. I have to save for Christmas and have been buying to much Jewelry lately. Saturday I spent the whole day cleaning, because at 4:00pm Matt had a friend come over to spend the night. I even helped Matt clean his room. Always a major project no matter what. I don't understand how I can keep throwing bags of stuff out and it still looks messy. We haven't even bought him anything new in a long time. Crazy. Matt worked on his school work before his friend came over to play. Once his friend came over they had a blast. We have the whole down stairs set up for him. The Wii game, ping pong table, basketball hoop, bunk beds set up, TV, darts. They basically stayed downstairs to play. I think they finally fell asleep at 1:30 at night. Matt was pretty tired on Sunday. After his friend left, we went to Bishop Farms and met Trent, Erin and Grant there. We did the Hay ride, picked a big pumpkin out althought Erin and Trent's Pumpkin weighted 40lbs, ours only weighed in at 30 lbs. There wasn't much to choose from. Pumpkins for some reason didn't do well this year around here. We then went and bought a Christmas ornament, both kids picked out a cute little snowglobe ornament, we got our donuts and did a Grammy Pam hay ride. It was low 50's today, nice fall day. We had to short of a visit, but it was fun. Off and running back home to see Football.

Pictures I am posted are of Matt with a pumpkin he got last week at the neighbors b-day party for their one year old. I will have to take new pics with his new pumpkin. Forgot my camera at Bishops. I hate when I do that. Well have a nice week. Marla and the kids have a safe flight. We are all thinking of you.

Nan and Mom

Nan Mom
Three years ago today you left us. How can the time have passed? I miss you everyday and I still love you everyday. You were the best mom and I never got to say it as much as I should have. Children can be so in the moment and not about what is around them. As we grow up we see so clearly, but always to late. I hope you knew, as I know Matt loves me, I loved you. You were my best friend and still are. I talk to you, but can not hear you. I feel you near by, but can not see you. Those are the hard realities. Today I requested Flowers for you in the church. We said your name out loud hoping you heard every prayer. As I said on Nan's day, may you be with your family and may I join you someday when it is my time to laugh, love and talk again.
I miss your voice. Peace and Love always, Tracey your one and only daughter.

October 9

Today is a day to reflect and be happy to have such wonderful memories of our Nan, Thelma Cowing. She gave us love in a special way. Everyday we entered her home, she made it feel like it was our home. A beautiful slice of heaven located on a dirt road at the end of what seemed no where. It wasn't no where to us, it was a place of peace, laughter, tears, childhood dreams, friendship, family, every memory you can make and then some. My heart aches a little because I miss her so much. I realize that looking in the mirror at myself, looking into my families eyes and having such wonderful memories is what keeps her alive in all of us. We couldn't be blessed more since she was our Nan and no one elses. Nan may you rest in peace amongst your loved ones in heaven. May we meet again to have Cookes when it is my time to join you.

October 4 - 5th 2008

Great weekend, Matt's team won their game, 4-0. He played goalie for the first half and blocked the only shot at him. Second half played defense and did a great job at it. We had Jen, Dan, Caitlin, and Madison over this weekend. A lot of fun. I made lasagna and Matt made little cakes to decorate halloween style. The girls are getting big and we have the honor of being Caitlins god parents. We are so excited. Auntie Tracey held Caitlin a lot and Uncle Dave had Madison. She is a pip. Madison was sitting on Uncle Dave's lap pointing to his face saying what is this and that. We were all laughing. Got some pics of them and Riley finally. Have fun week!

What a week

Well everyone, it has been one hell of a week. Work was a little more stressful then usual this week, but almost through it and as usual I worked everything out. At least it seems good right now. Don't want to go into detail over the internet. Anyway, Matt has had a crazy week too. We studied for three major tests this week, he got his progress report and all was good but writing. We need to bring up his grade majorily in this subject. As usually, like I said before since reading with him since he was 2 months old has paid off. He had a 100 so far in his reading class. That I am proud of him. Now if I can get his writing to not look like an infant, that would be fantastic. I dyed my hair almost black and I love it. Have had mixed reviews from people, but Dave liked it and I do so that it all that matters. Matt does matter, but he hated it. I think he is getting use to it since the last few days he hasn't said anything. Dave has had a long week and looking forward to the weekend. We have soccer, church and Dan and Jennifer are coming over. They asked us to be Caitlin's god parents, so we are excited. I will take pics while they are here so you can see her and big sis Madison. Well hope your week has gone well. Love Marla's videos. keep them coming.
Love, Tracey, Dave and Matt
